Alaska Department of Transportation soliciting comment on Parks Highway Redesign near the entrance to Denali National Park

Representatives of the Alaska Department of Transportation will be attending the Denali Borough Assembly meeting this Wednesday, November 10, 2010 (Cantwell School, 6 PM) to receive input on a passing lanes project that will affect the Parks Highway near Denali National Park. Of particular concern for locals are proposals for MP 227-229.  Be there, if you have comments, or plan to participate in online scoping and comments.

Notice from DOT states: “The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), in cooperation with the Alaska Division of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is preparing the environmental document for the Parks Highway Passing Lanes MP 163-305, 63515/IM-000S(716). To ensure that all factors are considered in the development of the environmental document, please provide your written comments by November 19, 2010.”
