DCC Screens “Windfall” at Tri-Valley Library
DCC is sponsoring a showing of “Windfall” at the Tri-Valley Community Library in Healy on Friday, April 26 at 7:00pm.
All energy production comes with human and environmental cost, whether fossil-fuel based or renewable. The documentary ‘Windfall” chronicles the experience of the town of Meredith, NY, where a developer installs 40 industrial-sized wind turbines. After the recent completion of the GVEA Eva Creek wind farm and the growing interest in wind energy in Alaska, it seemed an opportune to time to look at some of the challenges wind energy might pose to Alaska communities. This is one in a series of documentaries DCC plans to show to explore the issues raised by different forms of energy production.
