DCC Response to NPS Winter/Shoulder Season EA

In late 2018, NPS published some ideas for managing winter and shoulder season visitation at Denali. Then in late 2019, NPS put out a plan based on the input received. Early this summer an Environmental Assessment came along with specific actions to be implemented. DCC responded with many tweaks and critiques aimed at making the final actions more protective of park resources. To highlight just two concerns: we were particularly worried about the plan for expanded commercial services in the winter and shoulder seasons, and we wanted to keep the scope tightly focused on the frontcountry developed area along the park road from the entrance to Teklanika.
