Read our comments on the Yukon Tanana Area Plan

This important document establishes planning intent for state lands in the vicinity of Denali National Park for the next couple of decades. The revised draft of this plan gave DCC the opportunity to comment on our vision for the future of lands in the Stampede and Yanert areas. We supported the plan’s designations of the Stampede Townships as Wildlife Habitat and Public Recreation, and suggested to the state planners that they recommend establishment of a State Recreation Area there and also conduct a step-down planning process to deal with impacts and management priorities for the immediate future. We had several other suggestions, too.  Read our comments below.
